In the same manner that the space programs brought us some of the most innovative inventions of the 20th Century, brain injuries from recent wars have taught us a tremendous amount about traumatic brain injury (TBI). Older wars used mechanical means to harm humans, but modern bombs create a force that bounces a soft brain around inside the skull while leaving the rest of the body free from physical injury.

That brutal force in the airwaves causes massive bruising, which then creates extensive swelling. The swelling brain has no place to expand. Therefore, brain damage typically occurs. In the past, we assumed that sequence created permanent damage. However, in learning how to overcome assumed irreversible harm, we have also learned how to provide the brain with optimal health.

The Brain Can Create New Pathways

Organizations like Posit Brain Science have teams of neuroscientists who have created brain-training software. The highly scientifically developed games reach out to different aspects of the brain to stretch and challenge. The result creates new pathways in the brain to expand the existing aspects, as in older adults, or overcome injuries to any age person. A similar improvement system can be created when a person, with a damaged or aging brain, moves to a new location, learns an unknown foreign language, begins playing an unaccustomed musical instrument, takes up an unknown artistic pursuit, or undertakes a developing research project.

What Else Does the Brain Require?
The brain requires quality food in appropriate amounts, effective exercise (ample oxygen), and quality rest (enough sleep and not too much stress). Even ancient man, Hippocrates who died in 377 B.C., was aware of the need for those three basic ingredients. There are many commercial products offered that are specifically for brain health or enhancement. Several natural herbs, like Ginkgo Bola, and other unaltered plants, such as Moringa Oleifera, have been found to be worthwhile when taken in appropriate amounts, properly cleaned, and stored to prevent deterioration. Due to the fact that new research is being reported all the time, be sure to check with a trusted health-care professional or natural food store administrator to find out what is desirable for you.
Conclusion: Food for Optimal Brain Health

Today, many packaged products are on the market, specifically for improving brain health. Probiotics, whole juices, and whole food supplements are all being cited as outstanding for improved brain functioning. Each of these items is extracted from fresh plants. There is always the option of eating as organic as possible and as unprocessed as time will allow. Investing in your brain is one of the wisest investments a person can make as the whole body depends on hig performance functioning of the brain.

I showed that hypothyroidism is an autoimmune disease in 90% of cases. In this article we’re going to discuss the connection between autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) and gluten intolerance.

Several studies show a strong link between AITD (both Hashimoto’s and Graves’) and gluten intolerance. The link is so well-established that researchers suggest all people with AITD be screened for gluten intolerance, and vice versa.

What explains the connection? It’s a case of mistaken identity. The molecular structure of gliadin, the protein portion of gluten, closely resembles that of the thyroid gland. When gliadin breaches the protective barrier of the gut, and enters the bloodstream, the immune system tags it for destruction. These antibodies to gliadin also cause the body to attack thyroid tissue. This means if you have AITD and you eat foods containing gluten, your immune system will attack your thyroid.

Even worse, the immune response to gluten can last up to 6 months each time you eat it. This explains why it is critical to eliminate gluten completely from your diet if you have AITD. There’s no “80/20″ rule when it comes to gluten. Being “mostly” gluten-free isn’t going to cut it. If you’re gluten intolerant, you have to be 100% gluten-free to prevent immune destruction of your thyroid.

So how do you find out if you’re gluten intolerant? Unfortunately, standard lab tests aren’t very accurate. They test for antibodies to gluten in the bloodstream. But antibodies in the blood will only be found in cases where the gut has become so permeable that gluten can pass through. This is a relatively advanced stage of disease. Blood tests will miss the many milder cases of gluten intolerance that haven’t yet progressed to that stage.

Stool analysis is far more sensitive, because it detects antibodies produced in the digestive tract that aren’t yet escaping into the bloodstream. Using this method at Entero Lab, Dr. Kenneth Fine, a pioneer in the field, has found that up to 35% of Americans are gluten intolerant.

In addition to the stool analysis, Dr. Fine’s lab uses a cheek swab to test for the genes connected with gluten intolerance and celiac disease. People with HLA DQ genes are more likely than the general population to have autoimmune disease, celiac disease and gluten intolerance. Dr. Fine’s research shows that more than 80% of Americans have one of these gene types.

When I first read Dr. Fine’s research, I was astounded by the implications. It suggests that 1 in 3 Americans are gluten intolerant, and that 8 in 10 are genetically predisposed to gluten intolerance. This is nothing short of a public health catastrophe in a nation where the #1 source of calories is refined flour. But while most are at least aware of the dangers of sugar, trans-fat and other unhealthy foods, fewer than 1 in 8 people with celiac disease are aware of their condition. I would guess that an even lower proportion of people are aware they are gluten intolerant.

One reason gluten intolerance goes undetected in so many cases is that both doctors and patients mistakenly believe it only causes digestive problems. But gluten intolerance can also present with inflammation in the joints, skin, respiratory tract and brain – without any obvious gut symptoms.

As much improved as Dr. Fine’s methods are, they aren’t perfect. In some patients with autoimmune disease, their immune system is so worn out they can no longer produce many antibodies.

Hashmioto’s, the most common autoimmune thyroid condition, is primarily a Th1 dominant condition. I’ll explain what this means in further detail in a future article. For now, what you need to understand is that in Th1-dominant conditions, the Th2 system is suppressed. The Th2 system is the part of the immune system responsible for producing antibodies. When the Th2 system is severely depressed, the body’s ability to produce antibodies is impaired. The levels may be so low that they won’t show up on a test. So, even if you have gluten intolerance, your test for gluten antibodies may be falsely negative if you have Th1-dominant Hashimoto’s.

This is why I recommend that you avoid gluten if you have AITD, regardless of whether tests show an active antibody response. This is especially true if you have one of the genes (HLA DQ1,2, or 3) that predisposes you to developing gluten intolerance. In my opinion continuing to eat gluten when you have a confirmed autoimmune condition simply isn’t worth risking the immune destruction it could cause.

In fact, the more I learn about gluten and its effects on the body, the more I think we’d all probably be better off not eating it. Mark Sisson has written extensively about the dangers of gluten and gluten-containing grains, so head over there and have a look if this is new to you. The short version: foods that contain gluten (both whole grains and flours) contain substances that inhibit nutrient absorption, damage our intestinal lining, and – as I’ve described in this article – activate a potentially destructive autoimmune response. What’s more, there are no nutrients in gluten-containing foods that you can’t get more easily and efficiently from foods that don’t contain gluten.

The good news is that if you have AITD and are gluten intolerant removing gluten completely from your diet will dramatically improve your health. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.

We get ask this question all the time, "How do I find an alternative practitioner"? Answer: Visit your small local health food store in your area. They will know who is practicing in your area. Word of mouth is important to finding a good doctor who will get to the root cause of your illness and not just treat the symptom. First 15 minute conciliation is often free. A sign that the doctor will go the extra mile is they will do more than blood work. A 30 day saliva test for hormone issues is a great way to monitor your monthly hormone cycle. A stool sample can detect gluten sensitivities, PH balance, parasites, candida, yeast and more. Then the doctor will prescribe nutrients and herbs instead of pharmaceutical drugs, you know you are in good hands. Be advised most of these doctors are out of network. This means you pay up front then get reimburse by your insurance company. If you know a GREAT alternative doctor in your area.. we would love to hear about it! Best of health to you and your family! http://www.rebekahspureliving.com/super-foods-books-events-doctors/alternative-practitioners

In October 2009, I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. A friend told me about Essica tea. This is a natural detoxing tea that is believed to lower cancer cell count, and in some cases it has cured cancer. The tea originated with the Ojibwa Indians. A Canadian nurse in the 1920's added her medical knowledge to the original recipe and prescribed it to many cancer patients. After I had, had 3 surgeries, completing chemo and radiation I began drinking Essiac tea in May 2010. I was drinking it faithfully 3-4 times a day (as prescribed), then this past November (2011) I went days without drinking it. I didn't know if it was really making a difference. By the Grace of God I had an appointment with my oncologist. I asked him what my cancer cell count was for that month. He told me it was 19 and that was fine as long as it was under 40. My cancer cell count for all of my previous visits were either 1 or 2! You can bet I went back to drinking the tea as prescribed. In February 2012, I had another 3 month check up with my oncologist. My cancer cell count for February was NON-DETECTED /ZERO! Rebekah's offers Essiac at a very affordable price of $27.99 per pound; this lasts me at least 2 months. Before stumbling upon Rebekah's I was purchasing the tea from another health food store in Macomb County for $70 a month for a mere 6 ounces. If you know someone battling cancer I SUGGEST YOU PURCHASE THEM A BAG OF ESSIAC TODAY. It could help to save their life!

It must have been about 2:30am when I jerked awake. I was shaking with fear and disappointment. I had just dreamed that I bit into a triple-chocolate cake. My hand felt something so soft and moist that I could not imagine that it was not a real event.

I could feel it in my hand and see the icing dripping done onto my slacks. I could almost taste it in my mouth. There were chocolate crumbs and icing smeared on my nightgown. The worst part - I appeared to have gained at least 50 pounds!

However, there was no chocolate in my mouth. That scale-tipping event did not actually occur. Although vivid, my vision was just a dream. I made it through another day without cheating on my HCG protocol. I felt so happy with myself, but it made me realize I needed some additional help. I had been really hungry when I went to sleep.

What Did Rebekah Suggest?

Real Hoodia is one of her suggestions on the website and in Rebekah’s Pure Living brand new exclusive book: “The Definitive HCG protocol for Vegans and Vegetarians.” We are all different, so that might challenge to have to be considered again, but the product sounds promising. Several people wrote in order to say that real Hoodia worked for them. Rebekah says that it is the world’s strongest natural appetite suppressant.

Rebekah’s Emphasis is on the Word “Real”

Sadly, there is a lot of Hoodia that is not real. I was so glad to read that in Rebekah’s explanation. I tried Hoodia in the past with no change in my hunger pains. Apparently, there are a lot of scams out there selling 99% fillers and 1% Hoodia – not enough to help with hunger pains. That is another reason to always shop in a store where the products are verified, certified, and otherwise found to be valid, and where the staff is appropriately trained.
Protect your health-care dollars. Alternative health care works. That is why it is such a big business. When a great deal of money is at stake, unethical people come out of the woodwork. I trust Rebekah for a reason; I want health and an ethical business relationship.
Conclusion
Be determined to be kind to yourself. Do not be hesitant to ask for help with hunger pains or other challenges of the HCG diet. I found what I needed at Rebekah’s Pure Living and I know that you will too.

There have been so many times when I have failed to lose weight or lost some and then put it right back on.

I feel like such a failure!

What is the matter with me?

Can you help me?

Overriding Your Survival Mode

Scientists, who study human behavior, have reported countless times that the will to survive has to major components: (1) eating and (2) reproducing. You are not a failure, because you eat, you are a human being whose body has a built in system of making you eat because your body is trying to survive. You do not need to continue beating yourself up, in fact that is harmful to your self-esteem. Do not use derogatory names for your yo-yo weight changes. All you need is some help.

How Is Rebekah’s HCG power Booster Different?

HCG can be a major assistance in loosing weight fast. Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a protein hormone that develops in post pubescent females shortly after conception. It allows much fat to be burned by the adult body to aid the fetal growth without overwhelming hunger signals going to the mother’s brain, thus requiring her to eat more. Taking Homeopathic HCG can be a big help to losing weight, but may not be enough for some people.

The HCG diet is not easy because it is uncommon to make it through the day on only 500 or 800 calories and still have high enough energy to complete all your usual tasks. That is where Rebekah’s HCG power Booster can be a big help.

Three special products, Velvet Antler Extract, Cha De Burgre and Methylcobalamin B-12, go into Rebekah’s HCG power Booster. Studies have show that the effects are increased positive result up to three times stronger! These items will speed up your metabolism so that you burn fat faster and therefore lose more weight every day than if you did not have that extra help. It also helps keep hunger pains away. That is why there is a blend of items in the mixture.

Velvet Antler Extract is HGH is the growth hormone that many people confuse with HCG. It makes sure that each pound of lean muscle burns 30-50 more calories each day. I like that image.

Rebekah’s Explaination

I’m not a scientist, but Rebekah’s explanation of the other items makes sense:
“Cha De Bugre is a great appetite suppressant. It gives one a sense of being full and satisfied after eating only a few bits a day. Cha De Bugre is a powerful energy booster and appetite suppressant. It has the ability to help reduce fatty deposits, cellulite and provide a positive benefit for the heart.

Methylcolbalamin vitamin B-12 is responsible for the energy supply in the human body. Vitamin B-12 plays a significant role in enhancing the metabolic rate of the body. It acts in decomposing the fat and protein to produce energy. Compared with cyanocabalamin, methylocobalamin is better absorbed and retained in higher amounts within you tissues and is therefore more effective.

Conclusion

Work hard on understanding that Mother Nature makes you feel hungry to keep you safe in times of famine. Ask Rebekah to help make you slim in times of plenty so that your health and your self-esteem both improve. Good luck looking for new Summer outfits!

My stomach was growling last night at bedtime. I tried really hard to ignore it and fall asleep, but I finally got up and drank two glasses of water. I passed our cat’s food dish on my way back to bed. It was full of cat food nuggets like dried meat, fish, and only God has any knowledge of what other dead animals were laying there. I’m Vegan and yet I wanted to grab that dish, run and hide in the corner, and snarl at anyone coming close to me.

Almost. It was really just a fleeting fantasy, but it made me realize that I was too hungry to sleep well. I needed some help while following the HCG protocol for Vegans. I checked out Rebekah’s Pure Living brand new exclusive book: “The Definitive HCG protocol for Vegans and Vegetarians” and found some advice.

Shift Into High Gear – Add Fat Burners!

Chapter 13 in Rebekah’s book was the place I headed for help. That section talks about fat burners: things that will increase my metabolism. Some of them are also appetite suppressants. That is what I needed and fast!

At 3am, Rebekah’s is not open. Yes, I could order online, but why do that when I can drive over in the morning? I began to look at the list of things with funny names: 7 Keto, Forskolin, and Fuxozanthin. No, I did not have any of that in my house. And, then, there it was:
apple cider vinegar - Here is a low fat, low calorie, and safe product with a wealth of health advantages. This is an easy and cheap way to help promote more weight loss because it makes you feel full

I was so happy! I bought some organic apple cider vinegar from Rebekah “with the mother” just last week. I heated up some water, like I was making tea, and poured in some vinegar. Whew! It was strong, but had a nice apple flavor too! It was rather like apple herb tea with a bite.

Time To Rest and Lose Weight

I crawled back in bed feeling warm and secure. My stomach was much happier. My psyche was also more content. I had stayed on the protocol another night and was not sleepless. Before I knew it, the day had begun, and I felt refreshed.

The best part was yet to come. I made it to the bathroom scale with some confidence. I had not cheated last night. I obtained a good night’s sleep. I was a winner on both counts. After stepping on the scale, I let out a squeal. I was a winner on three counts. Another pound was gone, poof, kaput, outta’ my life. Oh, Happy Day!
Conclusion
Regardless of your commitment to being vegetarian or vegan, you can follow the HCG protocol. Just grab “The Definitive HCG protocol for Vegans and Vegetarians” by Rebecca’s Pure Living and find all the answers, even at 3am when the store is closed. Have fun shopping for “skinny jeans.”

This morning I looked down at the scale with the level of fear a knight must feel as the ninety-foot high fire-breathing dragon charges toward him. The sweat began to bead on my brow, and my hands were unsteady as I lifted the digital scale into the most level spot on my kitchen floor. As always, it was dark outside and the rest of the family was asleep. This is my private challenge. I don’t want anyone to know when I feel like a failure. I have justified this point of view, because if I am successful, the entire planet will know. If not, the depressed look on my face will give me away. Therefore, I feel justified because I am not really keeping any secrets from those I love.

The New, Improved Vegan / Vegetarian HCG Protocol WORKS!

I read Rebekah’s Pure Living brand new exclusive book: “The Definitive HCG protocol for Vegans and Vegetarians.” I did it, just as she explained, and I got those last ugly fatty pounds off. For me, those pounds have not left my frame in fifty years. Yes, I said fifty, not five or fifteen. That is a very long time.

Although I adored the yo-yo as a child, I have hated yo-yo dieting as an adult. I want a slim, trim, attractive reflection staring back at me from my mirror. I want older men to say, “She sure is a classic beauty.” Of course I know that means, “She looks pretty good for her age.” You know what? I don’t care if that is what they mean. I just don’t want someone calling me “pleasantly plump!”

Phase 3 was the REAL Challenge.

I came off the HCG protocol for Vegans at 139.8 pounds. For all those years, those last ten pounds were on my butt, waist, thighs – you know the spots. They were the hardest weight I ever had to lose.

At 5’8” tall with a large bone frame and a social security check sub in my back pocket, 139.8 is not bad. I was an inch taller at age 15 and weighed 145 most of the time a year before and 5 years after that age. In fact, I was that weight in my 20’s when I was a model. Now, my Lee jeans are a size 6 and no longer snug!

What Did I See on my Scale Today?

Does my writing sound like a disappointed dieter? Well, that is one thing I certainly am not! Although my eyes were closed, I made it onto the scale without incident. Peeking out at the dreaded numbers, I was shocked to see 139.8 again! A whole week of normal eating and not an ounce of additional fat has been stored inside my jeans. YEA!
Conclusion
What is totally amazing is that I am Vegan. The suggestions are to avoid sugars and starches for three weeks after coming off the protocol. I have eaten some brown rice every single day since I started the protocol. Following the guidelines has been work, but I have not felt starved. Since then, I have just been eating normally. I do not eat added fats, breads, or sugars. My only drink is water. And for that and HCG, I have fulfilled the dream of all of my adult years. I look amazing, and you can too. Try following the “The Definitive HCG protocol for Vegans and Vegetarians.” You will like the results.
